Rodent Programs for Indianapolis Businesses

Indianapolis has a lot of the kinds of buildings rodents like. There are warehouses and distribution centers out by the airport and along the interstates, restaurants downtown and on Mass Ave, and older apartment buildings with shared basements. For a business the goal is steady control and a paper trail, not a one-time knockdown.

What a Typical Program Includes

Programs vary, but most include:

• Locked bait stations around the outside of the building, anchored and numbered
• Traps or monitors inside, kept away from food prep and product
• A service log with each visit, findings and recommendations
• Notes on door sweeps, dock seals and gaps that need fixing
• Visits on a set schedule, usually monthly, with extra visits when needed

Warehouses and Loading Docks

Dock doors that stay open all day let mice walk right in, and pallets and cardboard give them places to nest. Dock seals, door sweeps and keeping stock off the walls make a big difference. A provider can set stations along the outside walls and monitors along the inside perimeter so you know where activity is starting.

Restaurants and Apartments

Restaurants deal with Norway rats around dumpsters and grease bins, and mice inside. Apartment buildings deal with mice moving from unit to unit through pipe chases. In both cases treating one spot at a time doesn't hold. The whole building needs a plan. Tenants with mice should tell the landlord in writing.
