Rodent Control in Avon, Indiana

Avon is on the west side of Indianapolis in Hendricks County, along U.S. 36 about 13 miles from downtown. The area was settled around 1830, but Avon didn't incorporate as a town until 1995, and most of its houses are newer subdivisions. The old State Road 267 through the middle of town is now Avon Avenue.

Newer houses don't stop mice, they just change where they get in. In Avon that's the garage, the crawl space vents and the utility lines.

Newer Houses, Familiar Gaps

Builders leave small gaps around the AC line set, the dryer vent and the hose bibs, and the garage door seal wears out within a few years. Mice coming out of the fields next door find those spots in October. A tech will walk the foundation and check each penetration. See entry point sealing.

  • AC line sets and condensate lines
  • Garage door bottom and corner seals
  • Crawl space vents and access doors
  • Dryer and bath fan vents

Lawns Next to Open Ground

Yards backing onto fields, ponds or common areas see voles in the spring and field mice in the fall. Mow tall grass before winter and keep bird seed off the ground.
