Rodent Control in Plainfield, Indiana
Plainfield was laid out in 1839 by Quaker settlers, the plain people the town is named for. U.S. 40, the old National Road, runs through as Main Street. White Lick Creek runs down the west side of town and Clark's Creek down the east. The town is also full of distribution warehouses, thanks to its spot near the airport and the interstates.
Homes here deal mostly with house mice and field mice. Warehouses and businesses deal with mice and Norway rats on a bigger scale.
Warehouses and Distribution Centers
Big buildings with dock doors open all day are easy for mice to walk into. Pallets, cardboard and spilled product give them places to nest and eat. A commercial program with exterior stations, interior monitors and a service log is the standard approach. Dock seals and door sweeps matter as much as traps.
Creeks, Trails and Older Homes
Plainfield keeps about 20 miles of trails, including a stretch of the Vandalia Trail on the old rail line. Homes near White Lick Creek, Clark's Creek and the trails see field mice in the fall. Older houses near Main Street have old foundations with the usual gaps. Seal up in September and you'll have a quieter winter.
